Oaklands Wolves SLBW

The Oaklands Wolves SLBW basketball programme was launched in 2017 to offer elite competition for academy girls, following an unbeaten run in National Basketball League women’s competitions.

Since its inception, it has become a hub for player development, with many academy athletes going on to achieve success in US college basketball, Europe, and with the GB national team.

Notable alumni include Tia Freeman, Kyla Nelson, Paige Robinson, Aliz Varga, and Louise Rouse, all of whom have continued their basketball careers at high levels.

24/25 Campaign

The 2024/25 season was a landmark year for the Oaklands Wolves Women’s team in the SLBW, showcasing their grit, growth, and elite performance. The team were crowned SLBW Championship winners and lifted the SLB Cup, delivering a powerful statement across the league.

They also secured a place in the Playoff Finals, demonstrating their consistency and resilience throughout the campaign, and finished as runners-up in the Betty Codona Trophy, narrowly missing out on a third piece of silverware.

It was a season that cemented the Wolves as one of the most competitive and exciting teams in British women’s basketball.
