A season to remember for Hockey Academy and LIFE student

This season has been nothing short of remarkable for Hockey and LIFE student Kes, whose journey is as inspiring as his achievements on the pitch. Recognised for his outstanding performances, Kes has been named Goalkeeper of the Season for his club and Student of the Week at the Oaklands Hockey Academy.

Kes’ success extends far beyond domestic recognition. Representing England at the 2025 EuroHockey ID Championship, he played a key role in securing a silver medal. He followed this up with another impressive performance in April, helping his team earn bronze at the Euro Hockey League ID Club tournament.

His impact has also been deeply felt at club level. Stepping up during a period of limited goalkeeper availability, Kes showed resilience and determination, delivering consistently strong performances throughout the season.

Off the pitch, Kes’ development has been equally powerful. Before joining Oaklands, he was non-verbal; today, he is thriving in an environment that has allowed him to grow in confidence while pursuing his passion for hockey. Head Coach Simon Archer praised his attitude, saying, “Kes is a dream to work with and is always willing to learn,” recognising both his dedication and the effort he brings to every session.

And the journey is far from over. This August, Kes will travel to Belgium to represent England at the ID World Cup adding to his amazing achievements.
