Get Career Ready Construction Course – Celebrating Learner Success

Oaklands College has successfully completed the Get Career Ready Construction course, supporting learners to build practical skills, gain industry insight, and take positive steps towards employment opportunities within the construction sector.

Delivered across three modules over 15 days, the programme was designed to prepare learners for progression into work, apprenticeships, and further opportunities within the industry.

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of the 16 learners who took part:

  • 8 learners secured a guaranteed interview with Griggs Homes
  • 2 learners progressed into apprenticeships
  • 2 learners secured interviews with other organisations

These outcomes reflect the dedication and effort shown by learners throughout the programme, as well as the value of collaboration between education and industry partners.

The course provided learners with an opportunity to develop employability skills, gain sector knowledge, and build confidence as they prepare for the next stage of their career journey.

Oaklands College would like to thank Tracey Shakeshaft, Will Ellis, Griggs Homes, and our apprenticeship team for their continued support and commitment in helping learners move forward into meaningful career pathways.

We look forward to seeing what our learners achieve next and continuing to create opportunities that connect education with industry.
