Watford FC Stadium Tour for Supportive Learning Students

Students from Supportive Learning enjoyed a memorable and well-earned day out this week with a visit to Watford FC for an exclusive stadium tour, marking the successful completion of a 10-week Healthy Lifestyle Programme.

Delivered on campus, the programme focused on promoting positive wellbeing, encouraging active habits and helping students to build confidence. The stadium visit provided the perfect finale, rewarding students for their commitment while giving them the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience beyond the classroom.

During the visit, students explored behind the scenes at Watford FC and gained an insight into one of the region’s most iconic sporting venues. The group was particularly impressed by the club’s inclusive facilities and accessibility features, which demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a welcoming environment for individuals with additional needs.

The visit provided an exciting and engaging experience while also highlighting the importance of creating inclusive environments where everyone can feel welcome and supported. This closely reflects Oaklands College’s commitment to supporting students to develop confidence, independence and positive wellbeing.

The experience was also a powerful reminder that learning extends far beyond the classroom. By connecting health, wellbeing and real-world experiences, initiatives such as the Healthy Lifestyle Programme help students to build confidence, develop independence and feel proud of their achievements.

Well done to all the students for completing the 10-week programme and making the most of this fantastic experience!
