CSCS Test Centre

What is a CSCS card?

CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme for the UK construction industry.

CSCS cards are used across the sector to confirm that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications to carry out their role safely. The scheme plays an important part in raising safety standards on UK construction sites by helping to ensure the workforce is suitably qualified.

While holding a CSCS card is not a legal requirement, it is at the discretion of the principal contractor or client whether workers must hold one before accessing a site. In practice, the majority of principal contractors and major housebuilders require construction workers to have a valid CSCS card.

CSCS in St Albans

At Oaklands College’s St Albans campus, learners and industry professionals can gain access to the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test as part of their journey into construction or continued professional development. Passing the HS&E test demonstrates an individual’s understanding of safe working practices, while giving employers confidence that their workforce can operate safely and responsibly on site.
