Amy West Returns to Oaklands Wolves for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball Season

Oaklands Wolves Women's Basketball Club is delighted to announce the return of British/New Zealander Amy West, for the upcoming season.

West returns to Oaklands as a proven front-court presence, bringing size, experience, and leadership back to the Wolves programme. Standing at 6'4", her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor will provide a significant boost to the team's ambitions for the season ahead.

Having previously represented Oaklands with distinction, West understands the club's culture, expectations, and commitment to excellence. Her return strengthens the Wolves' inside presence while adding an experienced voice and high energy to an exciting roster.

Known for her physicality, rebounding ability, and presence in the paint, West's combination of size and basketball IQ makes her a valuable addition to the squad. She will also play an important role in supporting and mentoring younger athletes progressing through the Oaklands performance pathway.

Lee Ryan, Oaklands Wolves Head Coach, said:

"We're delighted to welcome Amy back to Oaklands. At 6'4", she gives us a strong presence at the centre position and brings valuable experience to our group. Amy understands what this programme is about and embodies the standards and culture we want to maintain every day. Her leadership, competitiveness, and ability to impact games on both ends of the floor will be a huge asset as we prepare for the season ahead."

Speaking on her return, Amy West said:

"I'm really excited to be returning to Oaklands. This is a club that means a lot to me, and I'm looking forward to being back in an environment that pushes players to be their best. The ambitions of the programme align with my own, and I can't wait to get started with the team and contribute to a successful season."

The return of West reflects Oaklands Wolves' continued commitment to building a roster capable of competing at the highest level. Her experience, size, and familiarity with the programme make her an important addition as the team prepares for the challenges ahead.

Everyone at Oaklands Wolves would like to welcome Amy back to the club and wishes her every success in Wolves colours this season.
