Oaklands Wolves are delighted to confirm that Portuguese international Lavinia Da Silva has re-signed with the club for the 2026-27 Super League Basketball Women season, extending her stay in St Albans into a third consecutive campaign.
A key figure on and off the court, Da Silva brings a wealth of experience, leadership and professionalism to the Wolves programme. The versatile Portuguese forward has been an important contributor since arriving at Oaklands and will once again provide valuable European pedigree to the roster.
Da Silva enters her third season with the club following another productive year in Wolves colours, averaging 8.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game during the 2025-26 SLB season. Her consistency, experience and toughness have made her a dependable presence in Coach's rotation and a valued leader within the squad.
The 6'2" forward recently represented Portugal at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Finals, helping her nation compete on Europe's biggest international stage. Having been involved with the Portuguese national team for over a decade, Da Silva brings significant international experience and an understanding of the European game that continues to benefit the Wolves' younger players.
Throughout her professional career, Da Silva has competed across several European leagues, including spells in Portugal, Great Britain, Italy, Iceland, Luxembourg and Switzerland, as well as appearances in EuroCup Women competition. That experience has established her as one of the most respected veterans in the SLB Women's competition.
Coach had this to say on her signing: "Lavinia's experience, leadership and professionalism are invaluable to our programme. She understands what it means to represent Oaklands Wolves and continues to set an excellent example every day. We're thrilled to have Aunty back for another season."
Speaking on her return, Da Silva said: "I'm excited to continue my journey with Oaklands Wolves. This club feels like home, and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for success while continuing to support the development of the younger players within the programme."
