Oaklands Wolves are delighted to announce that captain Shanice Beckford-Norton has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball Women (SLBW) season, bringing leadership, experience and a winning mentality back to Hertfordshire.
One of the most decorated players in British women's basketball, Beckford-Norton will once again lead the Wolves as they look to build on the success of recent seasons and continue competing amongst the league's elite.
The Great Britain international enjoyed another outstanding campaign in 2025/26, averaging 13.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in SLBW competition, while continuing to provide the leadership and defensive intensity that have become hallmarks of her game.
Since arriving at Oaklands, Beckford-Norton has been instrumental both on and off the court, setting the standard for professionalism and helping to drive the culture within the programme. Her experience at the highest levels of the domestic and international game makes her one of the most influential figures in the league.
Shanice Beckford-Norton said:
"I'm excited to be returning to Oaklands for another season. We have built something special here, and I'm looking forward to continuing that journey with the club, my teammates and our supporters. We're hungry to keep improving and competing for trophies, and I can't wait to get back on court."
Lee Ryan, Basketball Academy Performance Head Coach, said:
"Having Shanice back is huge for our programme. Her leadership, competitiveness and basketball IQ are second to none. She leads by example every day and has a tremendous impact on our younger players. We're looking forward to seeing her continue to play a major role in the club's ambitions for the 2026/27 season."
