About the course

Discover the rewarding art of pottery in a friendly and supportive environment. This course is ideal for complete beginners, those with limited pottery experience, or anyone returning to the craft who would like to refresh and develop their core skills. Delivered over 8 weeks, with each session lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes, this hands-on course introduces a range of essential pottery techniques. You will learn how to create ceramic pieces using pinching, coiling, slab building, mould making, and wheel throwing, while exploring different methods of decorating and finishing your work. Throughout the course, your tutor will demonstrate new techniques and guide you in developing your own creative ideas. You will be encouraged to design and produce a variety of unique handmade pieces, building confidence and skills week by week. All materials are provided, including access to buff and terracotta clay, along with a selection of underglazes, glazes, and slips to help you add colour, texture, and individuality to your creations.
