Entry requirements

This course is designed for students who have studied 40-50 hours of a formal programme, or have studied the language in the not too distant past. Assessment

Your tutor will discuss your needs at the beginning of the programme and then reassess them mid term and at the end of the programme. There is no exam attached to this course.

About the course

This course is the first stage of a three-part programme (Part A, B & C), it will continue to develop your language skills and confidence. Enabling you to continue building your fluency and understanding of the language. You will focus primarily on continuing to develop your speaking and listening skills, helping you communicate more confidently and effectively in a variety of real-life situations. You will expand your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, enabling you to express yourself with greater accuracy and respond more naturally to increasingly complex conversations and contexts. Throughout you will begin to develop your reading skills by exploring authentic materials such as public notices, tourist information, advertisements and other everyday texts. You will also develop your writing skills through practical tasks, including completing forms, writing simple emails, letters and postcards. By the end of Part A, you will have improved your ability to understand, speak, read and write with greater confidence, providing a solid foundation for further study in Parts B and C.

Material to be provided by the students - If students are new to the language they will be expected to purchase the course book which costs between 20-30 after the first session, notepad and pen and a target language dictionary.
