Enrolment FAQs

If you've not met your offer conditions when you receive your exam results, or exceeded them, don't worry! Please still come in and see us to discuss alternative course options.

• Your GCSE results (or most recent results)
• Proof of ID (passport, driving licence or similar)
• Any certificates or qualifications relevant to your course
• Payment method (if applicable for course costs)

Timetables vary by course and qualification type. You will be able to view your timetable via the 'My Oaklands' app once you have enrolled. Download the 'My Oaklands' app at:

At this stage you'll be downloading the public version of the app. You'll receive your login details at enrolment, unlocking additional features including your personalised timetable, college information and other student services (please allow at least 24 hours from enrolment completion for these features to show).

Yes, Oaklands students benefit from significantly discounted fares with Uno Buses. You will receive information at or shortly after enrolment to access discounted travel. 

Oaklands College is committed to providing inclusive and equitable educational opportunities for all students. Our bursary aims to ensure that no student is denied the opportunity to pursue their educational aspirations due to financial constraints.

If you believe you may be eligible for financial support, we encourage you to speak to our Bursary Team during your enrolment appointment.

Financial support may be available to help with the following:

• Travel Support - will only be considered for students that live more than 2 miles from the campus they are based at. An assessment of distance and journey will be made at point of application. Where possible an UNO bus pass will be awarded.
• Essential books/equipment, and/or clothing - paid on a reimbursement basis on production of a receipt for the essential item, maximum 50%.
• Trip Costs – A contribution to trip costs, maximum 50%. UK based trips only. Trip must be compulsory for the student to complete their study programme.
• UCAS - a reimbursement of fee paid for UCAS application upon production of receipt.
• Meals - Government Free school meals will be awarded if eligible

Could I be eligible?

You may be able to apply for a bursary if your total household income is below £29,250 per year or if you meet other eligibility criteria.

What should I bring?

If you think you may qualify for financial support, please bring evidence of your household income to your enrolment appointment. This may include:

• Universal Credit Statements – 3 most recent statements in full.
• 3 most recent payslips for all household earners, and you may be asked for evidence of your Council Tax Benefit.
• Pension Credit Guarantee letter.
• Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 evidence.
• Local authority letter demonstrating your care status.

Please note: Applications cannot be assessed until all the required evidence has been provided and the bursary entitlement will only start from the day of the application approval.

Government Free School Meals

If you received Government Free School meals while at school please ensure you make a new application with the Bursary Team as these are not automatically transferred.

NEW FOR 26/27 The Government have changed eligibility for Free Meals. All households in receipt of Universal Credit will now be entitled to Free Meals at college. Students must apply for this as the college will not automatically know.
