Living at the college

Here at Oaklands College we offer student accommodation at our St Albans Campus to students in specialist subjects such as landbased courses, apprenticeships and those joining our sports academies. If you are in a position to join us on campus, we aim to give you a safe, community environment that is close to campus and has all the support you need when taking what is often that all-important first step away from home.

Residential team

We have a dedicated Residential team who are the first port of call for any students residing on campus during term time. They support with day-to-day safety and security, organise cleaning of the accommodation, provide pastoral care, support and individual welfare checks.

As for many of our students it's their first time away from home, our staff also offer much wider advice and assistance - it may be a personal issue, course related or as simple as teaching simple use of household appliances.

How to apply

Anyone wishing to apply for accommodation on your chosen course will need to do so by ticking the relevant box on the application form when applying for your course.

If you have already applied without requesting accommodation and subsequently decide to apply for a residential place, please contact us on 01727 737000 or email info@oaklands.ac.uk.

Enrichment Programme

Throughout the year the Residential Team offer a varied enrichment programme to encourage engagement and develop new skills. These activities can range from days out, team bowling evenings to cooking a simple Sunday roast together - simple things that add real value to time outside the classroom.
