Development Pathway – National League & Central Venue Leagues (CVL)

The Oaklands Wolves Futures squads form a key part of the Oaklands Wolves pathway, designed to provide high-level competition and meaningful development opportunities for young players selected into National League (Premier and Conference) and Central Venue Leagues environments.

 

Players are exposed to demanding, game‑realistic settings that accelerate learning and prepare them for progression into academy basketball or the next stage of their pathway.

The Oaklands Wolves Elevate programme is our community-focused pathway, offering accessible, high‑quality basketball opportunities for players at a range of ability levels. It provides a welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, develop skills, and develop a strong understanding of the game.

Development Pathways

The youth provision at Oaklands Wolves is imperative to the development of young athletes. The youth basketball development pathway, Elevate offers expert coaching, elite competition, and a supportive environment for young talent. 

Focused on skill development, tactical knowledge, and progression to professional levels, the programme provides access to high-performance facilities and competitive opportunities.

Based at Oaklands College, Oaklands Wolves is dedicated to developing the next generation of basketball stars.

Trials are for Boys & Girls at u12, u14 and u16 age groups. Please use the link below and find your correct age group for September NL squads.

What we offer

The Oaklands Wolves Basketball Junior club in St Albans offers pathways for young players, including:

  • Elevate Basketball (Years 1–6)
  • Development Basketball (Years 7–11)
  • Competitive National League teams (U12–U16).

 Trials are held in May.

Sessions take place at Oaklands College Sports Zone.

Elevate is our dedicated after-school provision for young basketball players looking to take their game to the next level. Designed to develop talent and build confidence, Elevate helps players grow their skills in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

Led by expert coaches with professional team experience, Elevate introduces players to the Wolfpack culture teamwork, discipline, and ambition. 

All whilst helping them progress through our basketball pathway. Whether you're just starting out or already have experience, Elevate is the perfect stepping stone to becoming part of the Wolves family.
