School Visits

We have a dedicated School Liaison Executive who visits schools across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and beyond providing information, advice and guidance on the options available for school leavers.  Our mission is to equip young adults with the knowledge they require to make informed decisions about their future academic and vocational pathway.

Whether it is delivering an assembly or attending a careers fair, we can tailor our offering to meet the requirements of your school.  In addition, we can speak to students and their parents and carers at parent consultation evenings and other school events.

School Explorer Afternoons

Give your students ‘first-hand’ experience of all the wonderful opportunities available to them at Oaklands College by bringing them along to one of our School Explorer afternoons.  The two-hour programme includes a campus tour, a subject specific visit chosen by the student and a chance to meet tutors and the careers team.  School Explorer afternoons are held at both our St Albans and Welwyn Garden City campuses and give your students a real ‘feel’ for college life.

Feedback

I wanted to thank you for offering the SRA students the opportunity to attend the college today.  They had a fabulous time and they were buzzing when they returned to school.  It helped some affirm their choices and for others to consider alternatives.”

Thank you so much for coming in and giving such a well prepared & informative presentation on Friday!”

Our classes are small to allow each student to experience our high quality teaching. Our tutors are all on hand to offer help, advice and practical guidance on every aspect of your time at Oaklands.

Our tutors all strive to do to ensure your time with them is as valuable, rewarding and personal as possible.

The LRCs offer an area to help you study, with a huge range of books, access to computers with facilities to print, copy and finish documents in black and white or colour.

We have disabled parking on-site and also limited places for students.

Each campus has it's own refectory where students can get hot cooked meals, chilled food and snacks and supplemented Starbucks drinks from breakfast to late afternoon. The St Albans Campus also has The Stables Restaurant where students can get freshly prepared meals for discounted prices.

Whilst the option to join the Wolves academy is available to those aspiring and competing student athletes the gym is free for students to use.
