Studying brickwork at Oaklands College

Brickwork

Whether you're looking to gain basic skills in brickwork or would like to build on your current knowledge, our brickwork courses will help you achieve your goals.

We offer recognised qualifications, preparing you for your career in the construction industry. During the course, you will train under a watchful eye of our experience tutors and take advantage of facilities dedicated to training in bricklaying.

Our courses will prepare you to:

  • build and repair walls or chimneys
  • lay brickwork structures
  • work safely and within regulations.

At our College we aim to create opportunities for students to work on real projects, outside of the campus. Recently some of our students built a brick wall in the playground at Redbourn Junior School and we're keen for all our students to work on similar projects during their study.

Apprenticeships are also available.

All of our full time programmes include opportunities to support and enhance your learning so that you can achieve your goals and ambitions. Students enrol on a Study Programme which individualises their education whilst enhancing their employability skills. A Study Programme is made up of four key elements which include a main vocational qualification, the development of English and maths through the study of GCSE’s or Functional Skills, Work-related learning through work experience and Personal Development Reviews.
