Oaklands College Fashion students showcased their creativity, professionalism, and entrepreneurial talent this week as they hosted a two-day pop-up shop at The Galleria. The event, delivered by learners from Fashion Business and Fashion Design, proved to be a huge success raising over £500 and attracting exceptional feedback from customers.
Visitors described the shop as offering a “high-end shopping experience”, praising both the quality of the handmade and upcycled fashion pieces and the professionalism of the students running the event. Many even expressed interest in seeing a more permanent presence from the students in the future.
Throughout the pop-up, learners took on a wide range of industry-relevant roles, including:
Customer service assistants
Duty managers
Marketing and promotions assistants
Store merchandisers and organisers
Fitting room assistants
These responsibilities provided valuable hands on experience and a real insight into the world of fashion retail and business management. The project also formed part of the students’ wider focus on sustainable fashion, with many items created using donated or repurposed clothing.
Tutor Natalie shared her pride in the students’ achievements, noting the level of hard work, teamwork, and professionalism demonstrated throughout the event.
The College extends its congratulations to all involved for representing Oaklands College so brilliantly and delivering an outstanding pop-up experience.
