Oaklands was proud to host the School Games Athletics Competition on Thursday 22nd, welcoming local junior schools from across the area for an energetic and inspiring day of sport. It was fantastic to see so many young people coming together, embracing healthy competition and getting active in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The event ran smoothly thanks to the incredible support of our Wolves staff, whose enthusiasm and commitment helped make the day such a success. A huge thank you goes to Jake Awe and the rest of the Wolves team for their hard work throughout the competition. We were also delighted to welcome back alumni Mia McIntosh, whose involvement was a brilliant reminder of the lasting connection students have with Oaklands long after they leave.
It was great to see local schools unite through sport, encouraging teamwork, resilience and a love of physical activity. The atmosphere throughout the day reflected the spirit of the School Games, with students cheering each other on and giving their all in every event. We would like to thank all staff, volunteers and schools involved for helping to create such a positive and memorable experience.
