Assessment

You will be assessed throughout the 12-week course with final assessments made up of three exams: Reading, Writing, and Speaking & Listening. The Reading and Writing exams can be taken together at the end of the course, so you will only need to attend the College once. The Speaking and Listening exam is conducted online via Teams, and you will receive your exam date when you enrol.

About the course

This qualification provides practical skills for everyday life, further study, and the workplace. It is widely recognised by employers, and many universities accept it as part of their entry requirements. If you have not achieved a GCSE English pass at grades A'C / 4'9 and you are British or have settlement status, the UK Government will fully fund this course. Distance Learning means you only need to attend College to sit your final exams. To complete the online course, you will need a computer with internet access. You should be confident using the internet and email, and you will also need access to a printer and a scanner (or a phone with a scanning app).

Please contact us to find out if you require any specific equipment for this particular course.
