Why study sport at Oaklands College?

With physical activity and exercise coming to the forefront of the prevention and management of many medical conditions, there is an increasing demand for qualified exercise professionals, including coaches, fitness instructors and facilities operation assistants.

To ensure you have the skills and experience necessary to enter, or progress in your chosen area of sport, we provide a range of courses in health, fitness and performance. There is also a chance to achieve coaching awards alongside your main vocational study.

We have invested in fantastic sports facilities including 2 full-size floodlit synthetic pitches, state-of-the-art sports hall and fitness gym along with changing rooms.

Sports Academies

We have developed academies with recognised sports clubs to provide an exciting opportunity for aspiring sports men and women to receive professional coaching in addition to studying for a nationally recognised qualification in sport.

Our partnerships include: England Basketball, Hertfordshire Mavericks, Saracens Rugby Club, St Albans City Football Club and Arsenal Women's Football Club.

Extended Degree

If you want to study for a degree but do not meet the entry requirements, completion at this level will guarantee you entry onto the first year of your chosen degree. Applicants can study towards foundation degrees validated by University of Hertfordshire and delivered at Oaklands College.
