During the AS Level you will cover:
The English Legal System; Here you will learn who works in the English Legal System - what Barristers, Solicitors and Judges actually do, as well as how they are trained. You will also look at how ordinary members of the public just like you, get to participate in the legal process.
From there, you will be learning about the differences between civil and criminal law in England, by studying the different courts and looking at both criminal and civil procedures. This will include an in-depth look at what happens to an individual from the time of arrest, appearing in court and to being sentenced by the criminal courts, as well as studying what kind of matters are dealt with in the civil courts. You will also be introduced to alternatives to courts, such as tribunals and also study what kind of powers the Police has.
