Oaklands College joined more than 1,500 students at Generation Dacorum 2026 last week, helping young people explore their future education and career opportunities alongside parents, carers and local businesses.
The event was opened by the Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Garrick Stevens, Victoria Collins MP and Norman Jennings from Hertfordshire Futures, bringing together education providers and employers to help young people discover the opportunities available to them.
Events such as Generation Dacorum provide a valuable opportunity for Oaklands College to connect with local young people, raise awareness of further education and apprenticeships, and help students make informed decisions about their next steps.
Throughout the day, Oaklands College’s Careers, Marketing, Apprenticeships and Work Experience teams spoke with students about the wide range of courses and pathways available, answering questions and sharing information about studying at the College. The College’s VR team also offered an interactive element, giving students another way to engage with the opportunities on offer.
Oaklands Wolves Athletics, Cheerleading and Golf Academy also attended, showcasing the sporting opportunities available to students looking to combine their education with their passion for sport.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success and to all the students, parents and carers who took the time to speak with the Oaklands team.
