Oaklands College Welcomes Local Schools for First School Explorer Event of the Year

Oaklands College welcomed more than 80 students and staff from four local secondary schools to its St Albans Campus for the first School Explorer Event of the academic year.

School Explorer Events help local students explore their post-16 options, discover new subjects and gain a better understanding of what studying at Oaklands College could offer them.

The event, held on Wednesday, gave students the opportunity to discover more about college life, explore different curriculum areas and learn about the opportunities available at Oaklands.

Students from Sandringham School, Ridgeway Academy, St Clement Danes School and Samuel Ryder Academy began the day with an introductory presentation, providing an insight into life at college. They then took part in a guided campus tour and visited a range of curriculum areas to gain a better understanding of the courses and facilities on offer.

The event received positive feedback from both students and school staff, with visitors welcoming the opportunity to experience college life first-hand.

The Careers Lead at St Clement Danes School said:

“Just want to say a huge thank you for the Taster Day on Wednesday. The pupils got so much out of it and there was definitely a lot of positive chat on the way home.”
