Oaklands Wolves are proud to announce the return of captain Shanice Beckford-Norton for the upcoming 2025/26 Superleague Basketball (SLB) season.
The Wolves leader will once again spearhead the Hertfordshire side as they aim to build on last year’s historic success. Beckford-Norton played a pivotal role in guiding Oaklands to their first-ever silverware, lifting the SLB Cup in March before going on to secure the SLB league title and appearances in all major domestic finals.
A top-of-the-table finish marked a new chapter for the college-based programme, but it was no surprise for Beckford-Norton. With 15 trophies across her career, she is the most decorated player in the history of the women’s professional game in the SLB.
Fresh from representing Team GB at the FIBA EuroBasket finals, Beckford-Norton shared her excitement for the new season:
“We’re faced with an opportunity to be even better than we were last year! It’s a long season but we are ready to stay locked in and focused on what’s in front of us, each game at a time.”
Last season, the Wolves guard averaged 12.1 points and 4.1 assists per game, proving her impact on both ends of the court. She will look to replicate that form when the 2025/26 SLB campaign tips off on September 26th with an away fixture against rivals Leicester Riders in the SLB Trophy.
Stay tuned for updates on the Oaklands Wolves women’s basketball team as they chase more success in the new season.
