The duration of your apprenticeship will depend on your previous workplace experience and skill level. The Work Based Diploma Level 2 part of the apprenticeship framework will be delivered online using Oaklearn the college's online learning platform. All apprentices must be on programme for at least 366 days. You can start the course at any time you wish.

Business and Administration plays a vital role in organisations by handling day-to-day tasks and making sure the office runs smoothly. Administrators require a strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail because their roles may involve organising people and resources, acting as personal assistants, secretaries, administration assistants, data entry clerks and office juniors. At Level 2, the Business Administration Apprentice may be responsible for typing up documents, putting financial information together in spreadsheets, daily postal procedures, photocopying confidential documents, information communication and technology skills. The Apprenticeship programme allows you to learn the key skills required to succeed in this role and lets you put those skills into practice in a real working environment.

The Apprenticeship in Customer Service at level 2 requires completion of the following components:- • Competence Based Element: Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service • Knowledge Based Element: Level 2 Certificate In Customer Service • Functional Skills: Mathematics & English Level 1 • Employment rights & responsibilities The NVQ certificate in Customer Service requires completion of a minimum of 28 credits:- • 8 credits must be completed from the Mandatory Units • A further 20 credits must be achieved by completing a minimum of one unit from each of the four Optional Groups; • At least 11 of these 20 credits must be at Level 2 Each Unit of competence has a credit value. There are two mandatory units which are:- • Communicate using customer service language • Follow the rules to deliver customer service The remaining credits must be acquired from the following option groups: • Impression and Image • Delivery • Handling problems • Development and improvement - You must therefore select at least one unit from each of these groups to accrue the remaining credit value.

This course is for anyone currently working in the field of administration whose role involves carrying out administrative duties with a high degree of autonomy and personal responsibility.

This is a 3.5 year Apprenticeship with attendance at college one day a week for the technical certificate. For the NVQ there will be site visits carried out by an assessor to collect evidence of competency in the workplace. This builds a Portfolio of evidence. The course is centred around the City and Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology, which is comprised of both theory and practical components. The theory modules cover topics such as Health and Safety, Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations, Installation Technologies, Electrical Science, Inspection and Testing and Fault Finding. The practical modules, most of which are assessed 'on site', cover topics such as safe site working, installation good practice and the working applications of Inspection and Testing and Fault Diagnosis. The theory side of an apprenticeship also requires the achieving of Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT, completing a recognised Employer Rights and Responsibilities qualification, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills qualification and an AM2 skills test which is a three day practical exam with an on-line exam at an AM2 Test Centre in Luton.

The framework is made up of the following components: BTEC L3 National Diploma, Extended NVQ3 Diploma, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Employer Rights and Responsibilities, Functional Skills.

The course begins every September and lasts for 2 years. It is delivered one day per week at college, the remaining four days you will attend work. You will study towards an Apprenticeship Framework at Level 3. Qualifications include: NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating Level 3 Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Functional skills English Level 2 Functional Skills ICT Level 1 Employment Rights and Responsibilities (If you have already achieved your Functional skills as part of your Level 2 Apprenticeship you will be exempt if they are still within 5 years)

The course is delivered in your workplace using a mix of learning that involves use of the College online learning platform (Oaklearn) and Assessor guidance. There is not normally a need for learners to attend College other than for an interview and initial assessment. The duration of the course will in most cases be 14 months and you can start at any point in the year.
