Apprentices at Oaklands College enjoyed an exciting day of hands-on learning as they partnered with Airbus to design, build and launch rockets at the College's St Albans Campus.
The experience gave apprentices the opportunity to apply their STEM and engineering skills in a practical setting, working as teams to solve challenges and prepare their rockets for launch. The event provided a valuable insight into the aerospace industry while demonstrating how classroom learning translates into real-world applications.
With rockets soaring into the sky across the campus, the day was a memorable experience for everyone involved. Apprentices were able to develop their problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills while gaining first-hand experience of the engineering principles used in aerospace projects.
The event highlights Oaklands College's commitment to providing industry-led learning opportunities that help prepare students and apprentices for successful careers in engineering, manufacturing and technology.
A huge thank you to Airbus for supporting the event and inspiring the next generation of engineers, innovators and aerospace professionals.
