Assessment

Assessment will be continuous and based on practical achievement throughout the course. Learners will demonstrate progress through participation in workshops, completion of pre-production planning materials, tutor observation of practical production skills, peer feedback activities, and the creation of a audio or video podcast.

About the course

Turn your ideas into a podcast. Learn how to plan, record, edit and publish your own audio or video content. Have you ever wanted to start a podcast but weren't sure where to begin? Whether you're passionate about storytelling, interviews, current affairs, hobbies, business or entertainment, this practical hands-on course will guide you through the complete podcast production process. You'll learn how successful podcasts are created, from the initial idea through to recording, editing, publishing and promotion. Working in Oaklands College's professional media facilities, you'll gain experience using industry-standard podcasting, audio and video equipment while developing your own original podcast project. By the end of the course, you'll have planned, recorded and edited your own audio or video podcast episode and developed the confidence to continue producing content independently.
Materials to be provided by the learners: 32GB+ USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 Flash Drive 'Used to store audio, video, project files, edits, and coursework. A 32GB SanDisk drive (around '13) supports common formats including MP3, MP4, and WAV. USB 2.0 should be avoided due to slower transfer speeds. 32GB V10/Class 10 SD Card 'Required for use with College cameras and audio recorders. A card such as the SanDisk Ultra supports 1080p Full HD recording and provides approximately 2.5'3.5 hours of video or 220'550 hours of audio storage, depending on recording settings.

Please contact us to find out if you require any specific equipment for this particular course.
