Residential at Oaklands

Student Accommodation

At Oaklands, living away from home is part of the experience for students within our Wolves Sport Academies. Residential life provides a supportive environment where learners can focus on their studies, build confidence and independence, and fully engage with College life.

From on campus living to trusted partners, we offer a range of residential options designed to support learning, independence and wellbeing.
All accommodation options are carefully selected to ensure students feel safe, supported and settled, with appropriate pastoral care available throughout their time at College.

On Campus Accommodation

Homestead Residential Accommodation offers a safe, comfortable and supportive living environment for students studying at Oaklands College. Located on campus, it provides students with the convenience of being close to lessons, training facilities and college services, while also offering a strong sense of community and independence.

All rooms are en suite and furnished with a 7ft long single bed, desk and wardrobe, giving students their own private space to study, relax and store belongings comfortably. Students have access to shared kitchen facilities, encouraging independent living skills and social interaction, as well as a shared garden area for downtime and outdoor relaxation.

The accommodation also benefits from two shared living and relaxation areas, equipped with TVs and gaming consoles, providing welcoming communal spaces to socialise and unwind. Recreational facilities include pool and table football, table tennis and a basketball hoop in the garden, offering students plenty of opportunities to stay active and connect with others outside of their studies.

Off Site Accommodation - University of Hertfordshire

Our off‑site residential option is based at the University of Hertfordshire’s de Havilland Campus, offering students a high‑quality, university‑style living experience with the reassurance of Oaklands support. The accommodation is located close to Hertfordshire Sports Village, the Weston Auditorium and the Enterprise Hub.

Students are accommodated in single en‑suite rooms, each with a single bed with under‑bed storage, desk with drawers, bookcase and lamp, desk chair, pin board, wardrobe, mini fridge, TV aerial socket and fast, reliable Wi‑Fi. Each room also includes an en‑suite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Students share a large communal kitchen space, which is deep‑cleaned twice per year.

Students will live exclusively with other Oaklands students, and the accommodation is staffed 24/7 by Oaklands residential staff, providing a safe, supportive and well‑managed environment while encouraging independence.

Residential Team

Our dedicated Residential Team is your first point of contact during term time. They ensure day-to-day safety and security, coordinate cleaning services, and provide pastoral care and welfare checks.
Recognising that many students are living away from home for the first time, our staff offers advice on personal matters, course-related issues, and even everyday tasks like using household appliances.
A statement of our residential principles and practice can be viewed via the link below.
