Overview

The focus is mainly on Speaking and Listening. Students will be taught in the target language from the first session: Topics include getting around, making enquiries and booking accommodation, eating out, travelling and basic telephoning.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Tutors use the latest learning technology and encourage learners to use ICT in accessing additional resources from the college’s virtual learning environment during the duration of the course. If you have any concerns please talk to the tutor.

Am I right for the course?

This course is for all students 19 years old or over. If you are thinking of travelling abroad for leisure or work or want to experience this language, this is a useful introduction. It helps if you are enthusiastic about the language and are willing to work with other learners. If you don’t mind making mistakes, that helps too.

This course is designed for students who have completed a Beginner’s course or are false beginners with recent experience of the language. If you are a false beginner and would like some advice on whether this is the course for you, please call 01727 737154.

Your tutor will discuss your needs at the beginning of the programme and then reassess them mid term and at the end of the programme. There is no exam attached to this course.

Material to be provided by the learners:
If you are a new learner you will need to purchase the course book with costs between 20-30, notepad, pen and target language dictionary.

You will be taught by experienced and sympathetic tutors.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
