St Albans Campus

Our St Albans Campus offers state-of-the-art facilities in a rural setting, with great transport links to St Albans and Hatfield.

Capture

Our St Albans Campus is home to award winning facilities set within acres of wide open countryside. The Discovery Centre and Sports Zone secured recognition from the Royal Institute of British Architects, a body that aims to recognise buildings that set the standard for great architecture in the UK.

This facility offers state of the art specialist workshops and design studios, a large indoor multi-sports hall, gym and virtual learning environment. The sports hall ranks as one of the largest in the county and is supported by brand new floodlit artificial pitches with public viewing spaces meaning all year round accessibility and capacity to support elite sport development.

The Hospitality & Catering facilities, including The Stables Restaurant, are the only training kitchens of their type available in this part of Hertfordshire and the restaurant is also open to the public for lunch and dinner.

Campus Redevelopment

To continue developing the college's facilities the college has created a masterplan for the further redevelopment of the St Albans Campus. Our £62 million St Albans Campus redevelopment was given the green light back in 2017, enabling us to transform our site with modern state-of-the-art facilities.

The development is now well underway, with a brand new residential block having opened in 2020 and a new teaching block which opened in November 2021.

Our facilities

Our 200-acre St Albans Campus is set just outside the city centre, a spacious campus which houses a full working farm and surrounding land, delivers Hospitality & Catering in state-of-the-art kitchens and restaurant and is home to our animal family and hands on training in Trades such as Brickwork, Carpentry and Electrical.

As our home of Sport, this campus is home to the Oaklands Wolves - our elite sporting academies including Basketball, Netball, Football Rugby and Athletics, all making great use of our extensive grounds and purpose-built astro pitches.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) provides an excellent study environment for students and staff. There is access to numerous computers to use and LRC staff are available to help you with any queries you have whilst working in the LRCs and offer friendly advice. You can also book a 1:1 support session with a member of the team.

All students have access to the LRC Canvas page, our online platform with information to help you during your time studying at Oaklands College: academic and essay writing, referencing & bibliography, time management, exam tips and much more. Access to online resources is available 24/7.

You can loan resources from the LRCs whilst you are studying: Chrome books, laptops, books, headphones.
