Overview

The course develops the four skills for the Academic module. Typical task types covered for the Writing paper are:

Organising, presenting and comparing data
Describing the stages of a process
Describing an object, event or sequence of events
Presenting the solution to a problem
Presenting and justifying an opinion
Evaluating and challenging ideas

At the same time you practise more complex grammatical structures and communication at this level.

You will need to buy a notebook, and dictionary. Exam fees are not included in your fees.

Am I right for the course?

The course is for people applying for university, Au Pairs, International students, learners who want to get a Cambridge ESOL certificate.

Upper Intermediate or Advanced English. No specialist knowledge of academic subjects needed.

You will be assessed at the beginning of the course, and then formally and informally throughout the programme. The exam can be taken at an open centre. The nearest is Middlesex University. You are recommende to study for at least two terms before taking the exam.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
