Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds 7202)

Overview

This qualification is for those wanting to enter the Electrical industry. It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and gives you the opportunity to progress onto our Level 2 Electrical Installation qualifications.

This qualification are aimed at learners who want to learn the basic skills and knowledge of Electrical Installation.

Unit 101 Structure of the construction industry
Unit 102 Fundamental safe working practices
Unit 103 Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
Unit 104 Site preparation for working in the construction industry
Unit 106 Fabrication techniques for electrical installation
Unit 107 Electrical science and technology

Am I right for the course?

This Level is suitable for school leavers with GCSE results below the entry requirements needed for the Level 2 course. You will be learning basic skills and knowledge and will be supervised as you undertake various practical and knowledge based activities.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 – 1 or successful completion of an Entry Level programme.

The level 1 is assessed through a range of practical and written assessments.

The electrical installation team at Oaklands College has come into Further Education from different parts of the electrical installation industry. Collectively, they have experience in domestic, commercial and industrial installation work, motors and control circuits, data cabling and software applications, installation inspection and testing, installation design and verification, electrical and electronic engineering.

What Next?

It allows learners to progress to the following City & Guilds qualification:

Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations.

During any of our Electrical courses you will be expected to seek employment in the industry enabling you to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

Electrical can lead you onto many different career paths, including higher level courses to further develop your skills in your chosen subject(s).

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
