As part of the St Albans and Harpenden Dragon’s Apprentice competition, Oaklands College Dragons team got together with fellow beauty students to deliver a series of 15 minute beauty pampering sessions to St Albans District Council staff.

The event was a great success with 40 staff taking part and the day raised a total of £195 for charity.

Treatments on offer ranged from foot and hand massages to manicures and nail polishing.

The local council were so impressed with the professionalism of the learners that they have invited them back for another session in January.

Lecturer in Business at Oaklands College, Paul Kirikal, commented: “I’m really pleased with the entrepreneurship of our students and this idea was particularly good because it gave our beauty students real-life work experience as well as benefiting charity and council staff.”
