UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design students at Oaklands College have been busy working on an internal college project this week, sewing rehearsal skirts for Performing Arts students.

The project, which combines two course areas and set across two campuses will count towards student’s work experience hours and acts as an opportunity to meet and work with students from other campuses.

Students were assigned a live brief to follow by Lecturer in Fashion, Litsa Efstathiou, and were assigned various sizing and specifications to which they had to cut and sew a variety of fabrics together in order to create their finished garments.

The skirts will be worn by Performing Arts students practising routines for their End of Year Showcase performance.
