Hair & Beauty donate vital PPE to Peel Court Nursing Home

Staff from Oaklands College's Hair & Beauty department donated vital personal protective equipment (PPE) needed by care staff.

Staff from Oaklands College’s Hair & Beauty department donated vital personal protective equipment (PPE) needed by care staff. 

The Peel Court Nursing Home in Welwyn Garden City was in need of vital PPE in order to continue meeting its high care standards, caring for adults over 65 years of age and specialising in dementia patients. 

During the unprecedented times surrounding COVID-19, Oaklands College have been humbled by its dedicated staff members who have dedicated their time and efforts to supporting the local community. 

Advanced Practitioner in Beauty; Nancy Tobitt-Yates said: “After discussing with the primary caregivers at Peel Court nursing home, the need for vital PPE became apparent, with the college currently closed, the Hair & Beauty team wanted to continue providing support to the local community and knew that our equipment would make a positive impact.”
