Pupils from local primary schools graduated with flying colours at the South Hertfordshire Children's University Graduation.

Over 160 excited pupils from local primary schools graduated with flying colours at the South Hertfordshire Children’s University Graduation at the College.

The evening saw pupils from ten schools (including Cunningham Hill Juniors, De Havilland, Green Lanes, Howe Dell, Margaret Wix, Mount Pleasant, Oak View, Park Street, Sir Philip Howard and Templewood) collect a variety of accolades in front of proud family and friends.

Sue McKinnon, Children’s University Co-ordinator for Oaklands, said: “It is always a pleasure to see so many children attend the graduation ceremony. By offering exciting and fulfilling activities outside of school hours pupils have been inspired to build on skills and discover new talents.”

The South Hertfordshire Children’s University is led by Oaklands College and West Herts College, and is part of a national network encouraging children aged 7-14 to explore a wide range of activities outside of school hours and learn new skills.

Oaklands Principal Zoe Hancock, said: “The graduation ceremony was a chance for us to say a big well done to so many of our local, bright, young pupils. We became part of the Children’s University because we knew it would offer significant benefits to children, parents and the community as a whole.”
