This week, Sports Studies and Arsenal Women’s WSL U21 Academy starlet Melis Mehmet featured on the BBC’s ‘Football Wonderkid Challenge’ show.
The show, which aims to champion women’s football, challenged Arsenal’s 17-year-old Melis Mehmet to a series of obstacles – testing her skill, speed, and ability under pressure.
Melis represents something of a role model to the Oaklands College students currently training as part of the colleges 16-19 education programme, enabling players from varying levels to be involved in a full-time football education programme delivered by Arsenal Women FC.
