Acorns Nursery celebrating Outstanding Ofsted rating

ST ALBANS — Staff at the campus nursery at Oaklands College are proud to have their hard work recognised with an Outstanding grade from Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.

Acorns Nursery, based at the St Albans Campus on Hatfield Road cares for children aged between three months and five years. The setting provides childcare for staff and students on campus as well as families in the local community.

The recent grading is a welcome recognition of the hard work, dedication, skills and knowledge of the nursery’s strong team. This was reflected by the inspector in their report, commenting on the “highly positive attitudes of all staff, their excellent knowledge and their commitment to every child and family permeate all areas of their work.”

Staff, parents and children will be celebrating with a picnic during their annual ‘Big Toddle’ event later this month.

Nursery Manager Wendy Taylor said; “All the staff work very hard on a daily basis providing a warm and welcoming learning environment for the children so we are very proud of this success. The parents are also delighted with the grading and have expressed their good wishes. Ofsted remarked on the exceptional partnerships we have with parents and carers and we are now looking forward to celebrating together.”
