Sandy Walkington gives students insight into the Liberal Democrats

Earlier this month, Government and Politics students were given an insight

into Liberal Democrat party politics by local representative, Sandy Walkington. Sandy talked about the current global crisis and also about opportunities that can be found at the same time.

He discussed a wide range of issues including the problems facing today’s youth, as well as the aeging population, the global deficit, world economy, the rise of China/India and Russia as world superpowers, peak oil coming to an end and climate change.

Sandy then talked about what the Liberal Democrat Party stands for and encouraged the class to get involved in whatever politics they could, even if it was for a different party.

Sandy also requested that people write letters or contact him on facebook – and challenge their local politicians.
