On Thursday 20 September we welcomed over 200 people to our Higher Education graduation ceremony. HE students from a range of courses came together to celebrate their achievement in front of a packed audience of family and friends at this year’s event.

The Higher National Certificates, Higher National Diploma, Foundation Degree and Level 5 students gathered together in the main hall at our Welwyn Garden City Campus, which was transformed with lighting and effects for the occasion.

Graduates took to the stage to receive certificates from Pro Vice-Chancellor Sal Jarvis of the University of Hertfordshire, joined on stage by Oaklands Principal Zoe Hancock and Director of HE at Oaklands, Stephen Fox. We were also delighted that the Mayor of St Albans and the Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield joined us for the celebrations.

Here at Oaklands we are proud to offer a range of programmes for our HE provision including HNCs and HNDs, with further Foundation Degree study offered in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire. Each course gives students the opportunity to progress onto university and gain an Honours degree in their chosen field.

The graduation ceremony reflects students’ years of hard work and dedication in their chosen subject, and is a fantastic way to celebrate those achievements.
