UCSA launches free education webinar series

ST ALBANS — University Campus St Albans (UCSA) launched the first of a live webinar series (#ConstructingFutures) examining the challenges facing the construction sector, as a result of COVID-19. 

UCSA, a joint venture between the University of Hertfordshire and Oaklands College, ran the online event to discuss the impact on the construction industry post COVID-19.

Key speakers from construction specialists Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon discussed and shared views on the impact COVID-19 has and will have on the industry.

As an industry that was at the forefront of driving the UK economy before the pandemic and as one of the major contributors to the UK’s GDP, the event offered an insightful look into the adaptations of construction companies from around the UK and beyond.

The webinars explored the road to recovery and potential acceleration of change as a result of #digitisation and a shift in business models. The sector has continued to remain open during COVID-19 and is showing an immense reliance and agility to manage the current challenges, operating in line with changing government guidelines.

The contribution of Oaklands College’s recent graduates; Euan Beaddie, highlighted the talent that the next generation of leaders will bring to help shape the future.
