Welwyn Christmas light switch on a great success

Last Thursday, Oaklands College played a major part in the Welwyn Garden City annual Christmas lights switch-on.

Performing arts students took to the stage to sing, rap and dance, entertaining thousands of visitors from the local area. They were joined on stage by X Factor contestants James Michael and Sophie Habibis as well as popular dance troupe, Alter Ego.

Health and Social Care students were also kept busy all night offering free face painting to children.

A great night was had by all and visitors were treated to free Oaklands College ear warmers which were very popular as temperatures dropped.
